Premiering in July 2007, JHS film and TV’s Behind the Lens with Oklahoma’s Future Filmmakers is the first and only entirely high-school-produced program to air on Oklahoma statewide TV. Several editions of the program premiere each year on OETA’s main statewide channel, then are replayed numerous times on OETA Okla.

Produced entirely by Mr. Raphael and ten of his film and TV students, the hour-long documentary One Step at a Time aired in a primetime slot on OETA’s main statewide channel in December of 2008. Raphael and his students documented a year in the life of the internationally acclaimed Tulsa Ballet. Two of his students spent an entire summer editing the film, which Gray Frederickson, Oscar-winning producer of The Godfather II, called “wonderful and world class.”
