National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts (NFAA) finalist and Presidential Scholars in the Arts semifinalist. This film student was one of 150 finalists out of 6,000 in all arts disciplines to receive an all-expense-paid trip to Miami to study with film professionals in the youngArts program. She was also chosen as a youngArts silver medalist, awarded a $5,000 cash prize and an all-expense-paid trip to New York. She was then chosen as a Presidential Scholars in the Arts semifinalist, placing her in the top 60 students from the original pool of 6,000.
NFAA merit award winners. The same year that a JHS film and TV student was named a youngArts finalist, two other JHS film and TV students were named NFAA merit award winners, giving the JHS film and TV program more awards from NFAA than any other high school film program in the country.
